Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the rugged construction of these lanterns. They have a rubber molding on the base, a rugged handle, durable plastic housing, a high impact plastic diffuser, and reliable fluorescent lamps. The smaller model accepts 4 D-Cell batteries, while the larger lantern uses 8 D-Cell batteries. Also note that the 4-D Lantern includes a remote, allowing operation from up to 50 feet away.
