The RL6 offers bright LED lighting for any application. This headlamp uses four AA batteries, and offers multiple light modes; ultra-bright, bright, power-save, and red, plus an emergency flash mode. The power-save is intended to help maximize battery life, with the red useful when you want to preserve your night vision. It has a wide beam spread.
At its brightest setting it will operate for 85 hours on one set of batteries, projecting its beam from 16 to 22 meters (52 to 72 feet). In its "power-save" mode it will operate for 150 hours, projecting its beam 10 meters (33 feet). Brunton measures the maximum distance as the point where the light level still exceeds 25 lux, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of light cast by a full moon.
