These GreenLite night lights use LEDs behind a plastic diffuser to spread a crystal-like whitish light in a room or hall. The night lights do not have an on-off switch, but instead have an integrated photocell to automatically turn the light on at dusk, and off at dawn. Because LEDs have such a long life (guaranteed for 100,000 hours), you will never have to replace the bulbs.
