The models below have met the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) stringent performance criteria for its project to speed commercial introduction of advanced reflector compact fluorescent lamps (R-CFLs) designed for use in recessed cans. Each winning R-lamp is ENERGY STAR qualified and completed at least 6,000 hours of elevated-temperature life testing.
These high-performance R-CFLs passed rigorous specifications, as well as testing conducted by DOE R-CFL Technology Innovation Competition that simulated the high-heat environment typically found in residential recessed downlights.
