Deodorizing

How does it work? The titanium dioxide coating on deordorizing CFLs create a photocatalytic reaction when exposed to the fluorescent light produced by the bulb. This reaction releases electrons (negatively charged particles), creating a positively charged hole in its place. This combination of positive and negative creates a strong oxidizer called the hydroxide radical, breaking down odors coming into contact with the positively charged hole.
