With a Powercost Monitor™ you'll be able to monitor your home's electricity usage real-time, moment to moment. The monitor features an attractive, table-top display unit (pictured). At the push of a button it displays, in real-time, your moment-to-moment and total electricity costs in dollars and cents and in kilowatt hours.
It consists of two components - a small wireless display (that you can place anywhere inside your home) and a sensor unit. The display unit receives a signal from the sensor unit which is attached to the outside of your electricity meter. Both use two AA batteries (included). A battery indicator lets you know when your battery power is low and a signal indicator lets you know the strength of the signal being received from the Sensor Unit. The sensor unit transmits your meter information to the in-home display unit where your electricity information is displayed in kilowatt hours and dollars and cents. The PowerCost Monitor is programmable for local utility rates, including flat and multi-tiered, and time of use rates, and should be accurate to with 5% of the actual usage.
The PowerCost Monitor has been designed so that it is easy for you to install onto your electric meter. The sensor is simply attached to your utility meter outside the house. It does not affect the meter, or a meter reader's ability to read the meter, and once fastened in place the sensor reads the amount of electricity the household is consuming in real-time and transmits the information wirelessly to the display unit. It will work with most North American electromechanical and solid state/digital electric meters for which the optical sensor or rotating disk is not blocked, including smart meter technologies.
Included are one display unit, one sensor unit, an installation guide, setup guide, user's manual, installation DVD, and 4 AA alkaline batteries.
