Line voltage thermostats are suitable for use with 120 or 240 volt electric baseboard heaters or a direct-wired electric furnace. To install line voltage thermostats you will want to be sure to turn off power at the breaker panel and have available a Philips head and/or flat head screwdriver.
Use of a qualified electrician is strongly advised whenever working with line-voltage circuits.
