With this sensor your house and driveway lights will turn on as people approach, and turn off after they have left. Utilizing advanced PIR (passive infrared) technology, the sensors detect the difference between infrared energy in motion and the background space within a 90 degree angle, and will turn lighting on when a person or vehicle enters the coverage area. After the area is vacated and the time delay elapses, the lighting will automatically turn off.
The sensor offers two overrides that are controlled from the existing light switch. A security override allows you to manually turn the light on for the timed period (turning the switch off and on once), and manual override allows you to turn on the light for 4 hours (by turning the switch off and on twice).
The sensor is raintight and rated for temperatures of -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. It has an adjustable light level and time delay setting (12 seconds to 16 minutes). A built-in photocell allows the user to set the light level at which lights will turn on, ranging from 0.4 to 42 footcandles. The sensor may be mounted onto a standard, outdoor junction box or fixture on a range of locations including walls, ceilings, eaves, or over doorways. The sensor's 3/4 inch threaded nipple fits standard exterior fixture fittings.
The sensor is compatible with incandescent or electronically-ballasted fluorescent lighting loads (including compact fluorescent lights) up to 1000 watts and motor loads up to 1/6 HP. The color is white. In addition to the sensor a round 4.2 inch junction box coverplate to match the sensor is included.
