You don't have to be a grown-up to help save the Earth. This book helps show kids how to do it too. It is full of experiments, facts, and exciting things to do. The first section of the book talks about acid rain, the greenhouse effect, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity. Subsequent sections present informative and fun ways kids can make a difference by understanding the importance of recycling, reducing waste, energy conservation, composting, and so on. Each topic consists of a "Did You Know" section that offers interesting facts (e.g. "The average American uses seven trees a year, in paper, wood and other products made from trees. That's over one-and-a-half billion trees a year!").
Each topic also has a "What You Can Do" section, offering practical ways kids can make a difference (e.g., "When you go on a hike with your friends or family, bring some bags along for the trash - the trash you make along the way, as well as the trash you find").
