Many electronic devices draw power whether they are in use or not. Globe's enersaver® Surge Protector wth Power Control will eliminate the phantom power that is drawn by home electronics whenever they are in standby or off mode.
This power strip has one primary outlet, five secondary outlets, and 2 transformer-spaced constant outlets. The current that runs through the primary outlet is monitored. When the current to the primary outlet drops, the power to the secondary outlets will be cut, insuring that those devices are no longer drawing power.
For example, if a television is plugged into the primary outlet, with related devices such as a DVD player, VCR, etc... connected to the secondary outlets, when the television is turned off, the surge proector will detect the change in current and shut off all the secondary devices.
The power cord is 6 feet long, and its surge suppression and power quality-related electrical specifications include:
- Equipment Protection Coverage: $200,000
- Dimensions: 1.8" high x 3.8" wide x 10.5" long
- Max. Electrical Rating: 15 amps, 120VAC, 60 Hz, 1875 watts
- UL Suppressed Voltage Rating: 400V (a 6,000 voltage spike is clamped to 400 volts)
- Maximum Current Spike: 19,500 amps
- Clamping Response Time: less than 1 nanosecond
- Maximum Surge Dissipation: 1,050 joules
