The advanced Technabright SpringLamps from TCP (Technical Consumer Products) feature an innovative lamp design with dimming technology in the ballasts. The "dairy-whip" design of the lamps provides more even light distribution than many other compact
fluorescent lamps. Their ballasts allows the light output to be lowered to about 20% of full light output when used in conjunction with non-electronic dimming controls.

Note that these bulbs are not suitable for use in enclosed fixtures, emergency exit lights, or in outdoor locations where they would be exposed to the elements. Because these bulbs have electronic ballasts, and because they may only be dimmed to 20% of full light output, they should not be used with electronic dimmers, and ought to be used with dimmers with an adjustable low-level cutoff, or dimmers that have a preset cutoff of 20% of full light output or higher.
