How do I choose?
LEDs generally show modest color temperature variations from fixture to fixture, unless it is controlled. In a large function call, restaurant, or office, that variation may be noticeable. The Cree LR6 incorporates a computer chip that minimizes this variation so the appearance is consistent across the ceiling. The LR6 is, therefore, best for commercial use.
In a residential setting, with lower ceilings, and fewer fixtures, a modest variation in the color temperature across fixtures is less noticeable. The Cree CR6, without the precise color temperature control offered by the LR6, tends to be suitable for residential use.
