It is generally not necessary to boost clothes dryer exhaust with an in-line fan when the duct run is less than 15 feet, but if you are going to do so the use of an in-line lint trap is advised. This paintable galvanized metal lint trap features pull out door with view window, removable lint filter, and 1/2" flange for flush mount installation. Note that it will need to be cleaned after each dryer run, so be sure it can be installed in an easily accessible location along the exhaust duct run. The trap itself is 7.5 inches square, with 2 inches of duct on either side.
