Installation of the product is straightforward.
The product appears to provide very little restriction to the dryer vent exhaust and a moderately better seal against heat loss (metal dampers tend not to seal properly and plastic dampers can stick open due to the lighter wieght flap). The design appears to prevent winds from blowing the vent open (however conventional hooded vents will also provide this functionality helping to prevent the flap from being blown open).
The product may require ABS cement to seal the assembly seams.
I purchased one where the seam was open on one side and, the other side, while cemented was not sealed. A small amount of ABS cleaner and ABS cement solved this.
Overall I would say the small extra cost of this dryer vent is well worth the price. Anything better would require commercial ventilation products at ten times the price.
