Find out how much electricity electrical items in your home or office use. This Watts Up? .Net Monitor incorporates sophisticated features such as high frequency sampling of both voltage and current measurements to monitor true power - but presents this information in an easy to understand display.
Using the device is simple. Plug the Watts Up? Monitor into an three-prong grounded electric outlet (the monitor is on a 6 foot long cord to make it easier to view the display). Plug the device to be evaluated into the top of the monitor. The monitor will immediately display the wattage demanded by the electrical device. If the monitor is left plugged in for a period of time it will display the cumulative amount of electricity consumed or the cumulative cost of the electricity used (based on your local electric rate).
This Watts Up? Monitor will provide the following information: current watts, minimum watts, maximum watts, power factor, cumulative watt hours, average monthly kilowatt hours, tier 2 kilowatt hour threshold (used to calculate secondary kWh rates), elapsed time, cumulative cost, average monthly cost, line volts, minimum volts, maximum volts, current amps, minimum amps, and maximum amps.
This model will store up to 8,000 records (or 120,000 if only recording watts), recorded with a user-setable interval, which may be downloaded to a PC computer with the supplied PC software via a USB cable. This enables sophisticated data collection projects to be accomplished with ease, and a high level of resolution. In fact, over a weeks worth of data can be collected with a resolution between records of only one minute. The sample interval (time between records) is user selectable between one second and one day. Memory is non-volatile so no battery is required. The optional software allows access to the data table, offers charting and payback analysis, and permits the export of data in a comma-delimited format.
Further, this new .Net model has a built-in web server, allowing data to be accessed over the Internet. On the manufacturer's web site you will create a free account allowing you to access data from your .Net meter, then you'll connect the meter to the Internet (via home or office network), which will allow you to view the data from the .Net meter online. In addition, with an internal switching relay, the .Net meter can turn off power to the connected load based on user configurable rules, including time of day, peak usage, cumulative usage, and it also have a manual on/off.
